Our Why
As long as there is gender inequity, Nerdy Girls Success® is committed to empowering every young woman that they belong in any room in which decisions are made.
- A recent survey revealed that young women are aware that they deserve equal opportunities and pay, yet they remain hesitant to enter male-dominated careers like engineering. (Girls’ Career Aspirations Study)
- By adolescence, many occupations are ruled out based on gender, social class or intellectual potential. (Gender-Role Stereotyping and Career Aspirations Study)
- 80% of Black girls and 64% of Latinx girls scored higher on leadership scales when they have role models of their same race/ethnicity. (Girls Leadership Study)
Our Results
Since 2018, we have served almost 800 young women with 600 hours of FREE programming. Through career exploration, mentoring, and career and college prep, we empower and equip our young women to chart their own path to leadership. Since our founding, our young women have:
- have been accepted into business mentorship programs.
- have gone out for & accepted school leadership positions.
- started setting goals & creating action plans for meeting them.
- are better prepared for interviews for college, jobs and scholarships.
