(Big Hairy Audacious Goal)
Change the landscape of leadership.
Did You Know
- Girls are twice as likely as boys to worry that leadership roles will make them seem bossy.
- Between elementary and high school, a girl’s self-esteem drops 3.5 times more than boys.
- Women are more like than men to suffer from imposter syndrome (phenomenon where individuals are plagued with self doubt). Despite all external evidence that they are competent, women still feel like they are a fraud.
- A study showed that replacing a woman’s name with a man’s on a resume can increase her ‘worthiness of hire’ by 60%.
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works with high school girls teaching them new skills, providing necessary resources and helping build their network of women in leadership to educate and encourage them in the pursuit of their career leadership goals .
The purpose of our programs is to help girls understand the power and importance of their voice and how to use it to affect the change they wish to see in their own lives as well as that of their communities.
Board of Directors
Christina Meade - Founder & Executive Director
A self-described nerd girl, Christina is the Founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit, Nerdy Girl Success. She used her expertise in education, business experience and passion for women’s issues to launch the organization whose mission is to educate and encourage teen girls in the pursuit of business and political leadership positions. Her programs help teen girls understand the power and importance of their voice and how to use it to affect change within their communities.
The limiting beliefs of others can have a huge impact on how we feel about our own abilities. All it takes is one person believing in you and saying ‘you can do it’. Christina is determined to bring that encouragement to women and teen girls by helping them develop into the strong leaders she knows that they already are.

Tara Racer - Treasurer
As Managing Partner of Aberdare Business Solutions, Tara is proud to lead a team dedicated to providing clients with comprehensive, flexible and highly personalized service. After 18 years working in the bookkeeping and accounting world, she knew there had to be a better way. Recognizing this need inspired her to open her own firm.
Prior to starting Aberdare Business Solutions, Tara co-owned a retail store and wholesale business along with her husband. Together, they traveled the country participating in wholesale shows where they interacted with businesses of all types. During this time, she gained invaluable experience with purchasing, budgeting and developing buying plans—knowledge she continues to draw on today when advising clients.
The passing of Tara’s husband after 24 happily married years taught her how quickly life can change. This new perspective drives her to help as many clients as possible enjoy their businesses—never forgetting why they chose to pursue them in the first place. Part of doing this successfully is taking care of the day-to-day accounting tasks, so they don’t have to.
In addition to Tara’s work with Aberdare Business Solutions, she is a founding member of the Katy Woman’s Leadership Circle, a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor and a member of the National Association of Certified QuickBooks Advisors. Tara welcomes opportunities to assist new businesses and always make it a point to stay updated on the latest bookkeeping software programs out there to help clients improve operations and stay in-the-black.
In her personal life, Tara is a lifelong animal lover currently sharing her home with four sweet cats. She also likes gardening, cooking, decorating, watching British TV-shows, spending time at the beach and antiquing all over Texas.
