Comparisons

motivational statement

This quote used to be so reassuring to me. It would make me feel better that I wasn’t perfect or that it was okay that we had just had a bad day in business. But when you stop and think about it, it’s human nature to compare what we’re going through with what we see happening around us.

Everybody has those days right? I’m sure they do. But nobody is writing about them. The articles we see are about these amazing entrepreneurs and their big successes. We’re bombarded on Facebook with ads where people are boasting about how they made $100,000 in just 30 Days (and so can you!). It’s hard to compare apples to apples when all you’re shown is oranges.

Does anybody else feel like a total loser when you see these stories and ads? (Okay, loser might be a little strong but you get my drift.) Especially when you buy into one of those reports or webinars and shocker you don’t hit it big?

So now the quote just frustrates me. I need to hear from real entrepreneurs. Not to say that the individuals featured in Inc or Entrepreneur magazines aren’ t real. But that’s their highlight reel. I want to see the dirty behind-the-scenes…the side of them that looks like me.

And I don’t think I’m the only one who is thirsty for this kind of access. That’s what has inspired me to start this blog. I’m going to share it all here…the good, bad and the ugly so all of the other business owners like me can see someone else going through it just like them.
