This experience is designed for 10-12th grade girls who have an idea for a business they’d like to start and are looking for advisors to guide them through the next steps.
Girls are partnered with 1-2 advisors who will help them learn how to do market research, opportunity analysis and develop a framework their business plan.
Through this one week experience, the girls will:
-Explore their talents with other like-minded girls.
-Flex their leadership muscles.
-Gain business and entrepreneurial skills.
-Learn from women leaders.
-Participate in a pitch session with prizes awarded.
Each day of the camp, the girls will learn from different women in business. After the lessons, they will have time with their advisor(s) to apply the information to their idea. Concepts covered:
- The business model – What problems are you solving? How are the problems are solved today? Your unique solution(s). Your unfair advantage.
- The customers – Who are your customer segments? Who are the early adopters? What are the different paths to your customer?
- The numbers – What key metrics will tell you how your business is doing? What are your fixed and variable costs? What are your different revenue streams?
- The pitch – How do you get the word out about your business? How and where do you go about getting money to get started?
On the last day of the camp, girls will participate in a pitch presentation for prizes.
