Career and Leadership Summit

This support provides H.S. girls with an immersive experience where they spend time with fellow peers from surrounding schools, coupled with incredible women who are leaders in their respective careers/industries.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Career Representative: Have candid conversations with the young women, and share your professional journey.
Breakout-Session Presenter: Present on key career and leadership skills!
General Volunteer: Help with day of coordination and organization.
Panelist or Moderator: Be one of three panelists sharing your experiences, advice and answering questions from the girls.
Photographer/Videographer: Capture events through candid and posed shots and video.

High School Club

A cornerstone of our programming, NGS’ High School Clubs foster a community of learning and support among girls, setting them up for success in school, career and life.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Campus Liaison: Act as point of contact and NGS representative for the campus sponsor who facilitates each club.
Session Workshop Presenter: Present on key career and leadership skills!
Career Speaker: Come represent your career and profession! Facilitate lively, candid conversations about your career journeys and profession.

Job Shadowing

This is an opportunity for young women in high school to see, first hand, the day-to-day routine of a career they are interested in pursuing. You will be matched with a student to experience any/all aspects of a given profession, and are encouraged to include them in whatever daily routines would be most educational, interesting and insightful.

Flash Mentor

Provide unique, 1:1 career and profession guidance to our young women in high school and college. Flash Mentoring is our informal, virtual mentoring program that provides ongoing, ad hoc opportunities for young women in high school and college to access professional women in careers that interest them.

Career Accelerator

NGS’ virtual career prep program intended for senior high school and college women, ages 17-22, to prepare them for internships and future careers.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Mock Interviewers: Provide key feedback to help prepare students for interviewing for jobs or internships.
Scorers: Volunteers are asked to score award application items to determine a prize winner.
Career Speaker: Speakers are asked to facilitate a casual conversation via Zoom with a participant about their current career and professional journey.
Resume Reviewers: Help students build their resume!

My favorite volunteer opportunities are those where I get to work directly with the students. These include doing mock interviews and helping edit their blog posts. They are impressive girls who make me hopeful and excited for the future of female leadership and the world it will create.
