Tell us about yourself

I am Casey Armstead, and I serve as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner based in The Woodlands, Texas at Linde Engineering. Throughout my 20+ year career as an HR practitioner, I have been passionate about helping people grow professionally, navigate career opportunities, and achieve their full potential. I believe that exposure, mentorship, and encouragement can be life changing, especially for young women who may not yet see themselves represented in certain industries or leadership roles.

How did you first connect with NGS?

I first connected with Nerdy Girl Success in December 2024 when I had the opportunity to represent my organization as a volunteer session presenter and career speaker for a local high school NGS Club. From the moment I learned about the organization’s mission, I was inspired by its commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young women through career exploration, time management, leadership development, and mentorship. The chance to share my own career journey while connecting with aspiring young leaders was incredibly rewarding. NGS’s intentional approach to exposing students to accomplished women across diverse industries immediately resonated with me, and I was impressed by the confidence, curiosity, and ambition the program helps cultivate in its participants.

What motivates you to support NGS?

What motivates me most is the opportunity to help the next generation of women leaders recognize their value and realize their full potential. Access to role models, mentors, and real world career insights at an early age can have a lasting impact on a young person’s confidence, aspirations, and sense of possibility. In today’s rapidly changing world, especially with the growing influence of AI and emerging technologies, it is more important than ever to remind young people that their unique talents, perspectives, and humanity matter. Technology may change how we work, but it cannot replace the creativity, empathy, leadership, and resilience that individuals bring to the table.

NGS plays a critical role in reinforcing that message by connecting young women with accomplished professionals across a wide range of industries and career paths. By helping them see what’s possible and providing examples of women who have successfully navigated their own journeys, NGS empowers participants to dream bigger, believe in themselves, and pursue opportunities without limits. Being able to contribute to that mission and support the development of future leaders is incredibly rewarding.

What impact have you seen NGS make?

Casey Armstead cheering on high school young women at the Hack the Jobsite summer hackathonI have seen NGS create meaningful connections that inspire confidence, curiosity, and ambition in young women. Most recently, I witnessed this impact firsthand at the 2026 Hack the Jobsite Summer Hackathon. It was incredible to see students engage with industry professionals, collaborate on ideas, and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. What stood out most was how the presenters and mentors made every participant feel seen, valued, and empowered. They encouraged students to share their thoughts, ask questions, and speak up, even when they felt shy or uncertain. That kind of encouragement can be transformative for young women as they build confidence in their abilities and find their voices.

By bringing together students and accomplished women leaders, NGS exposes participants to career paths and leadership opportunities they may not have otherwise considered. The organization’s programs help young women expand their horizons, develop self-confidence, and gain a clearer vision of what’s possible for their future. The lasting impact is evident in the enthusiasm, confidence, and sense of purpose participants carry with them long after the program ends.

What would you say to others considering getting involved?

I would encourage anyone considering involvement with NGS to take the leap. Whether you contribute your time, expertise, mentorship, or financial support, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a young woman’s life. The investment you make today can help shape future leaders, innovators, and changemakers. NGS is creating real opportunities and lasting impact, and it’s a privilege to be part of that mission.
